At Hallowes Golf Club we realise that Junior golfers (both boys and girls of all ages and abilities) are the future of the game. We are proud to offer a wide range of coaching programmes and golf activities throughout the year, as part of our rapidly developing junior section.
As a golf club we have seen tremendous success from our Junior members, with many of our Junior Golfers proceeding to have successful careers in Golf. We’ve had our members play in The Open as both Amateurs and Professionals, we’ve had finalists in the English Amateur Championship and British Amateur Championship and we’ve seen our Junior members represent club, county and country on numerous occasions.
We passionately care about the development of our Junior members and the likes of George Ash and Sam Bairstow both made their mark at the highest Amateur level in 2022, with the latter turning professional in late 2022. Many of our junior members have represented our own club, Sheffield, Yorkshire and England and as a club we firmly believe this success is the future of our club and it is our pleasure to raise the stars of tomorrow.
We’re proud of our history of developing talent, and recently we have structured this process for younger children, helping introduce them to golf through the popular Junior Golf Passport.
The Golf Foundation’s esteemed Junior Golf Passport (JGP) offers a progressive schedule with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment for children aged 6-12 years. (www.juniorgolfpassport.org). Classes are divided into age and ability groups running through term time in 6-8 week blocks of sessions which are led by our own PGA golf professionals.
Our Club organises regular Family Fun days to introduce interested parents and their children to try out various golf activities as well as having an opportunity to sample the excellent clubhouse facilities.
Junior Golf Holiday Camps run throughout the school holidays. During the winter, weekly Junior indoor golf activities and games take place in the clubhouse
As a Club we are totally committed to ensuring the welfare, safety and enjoyment of everyone of all ages and abilities on and off the course. We are currently accredited members of EnglandGolf’s Safe Golf as well as being a HSBC’s Golf Roots Centre, as approved by the Golf Foundation.
In 2022 we instigated the informal family orientated Golf Sixes scheme. The Juniors have weekly Golf Sixes sessions through the summer by way of practice for the South Yorkshire Golf Sixes League, in which our juniors play matches with other local clubs.
